Be At Peace
Do not look forward in fear to the changes of life: rather look to them with full hope that as they arise, God, whose [very own] you are, will deliver you from out of them. He has kept you hitherto, and He will lead you safely through all things; and when you cannot stand it, [God] will bury you in His arms. Do not fear what may happen tomorrow; the same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you then and every day. He will either shield you from suffering, or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.
-St. Francis de Sales (1567-1622)
From a note handed to Judith:
"Fifteen years ago (July, '85) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, you laid hands on me. Not only did I receive the Holy Spirit but I was also immediately set free from alcoholism. Thank you so much and Praise God!"
The great theologian Karl Barth is reported to have quipped:
"When the angels are on duty, they play Bach. Off duty they play Mozart."
-(Commonweal Magazine, September 23, 2005, p. 32).
And here's a wonderful testimony from our friend Chris Freeman (whose husband is Administrator at Wolfson Children's Hospital here in Jacksonville:
"Thank you so much! An amazing thing happened today: I went in for my recheck because my platelets had dropped to 38,000 last week - not good (normal range is 150,000 to 450,000). When I found out on Friday that they were low, I asked for prayer from all of you. And lo and behold God did a miracle! My platelets today (Tuesday) are 279,000!!! This is the highest they have ever been and, needless to say, well into the normal range. My M.D. was in shock - had to do extra tests to be sure there was no mistake...it was no mistake. As I keep saying GOD IS GOOD! GOD IS GOOD! (He's good whether they had been high or not, but it does make you realize the power in prayer. And thanks be to God!)"
